Autumn Leaves

On a biting blustery night,
‘neath Octobers golden moon,
The Autumn leaves are dancing,
As crickets softly croon.
A candle gently flickers,
In a wind unseasonably warm;
My senses are awakened,
By the rumble of an approaching storm.
Transfixed by angry beauty,
As far as the eye can see,
Cascading leaves surround me,
As they’re shed from their mother tree.
The seasons of our time,
Are what make our world unique;
From the tiny buds in Spring,
To Winters dark mystique.
Such majestic beauty,
Brings on a reverent hush….
Autumn is the season,
That God picked up His paintbrush.
